At Work: Richard A. Durell (Dick) brings over 45 years of experience to durellaw, PLC. He represents business clients in the retail, manufacturing, and service industries in a broad range of matters. He counsels real estate clients in their development, purchase and sales, leasing, and financing endeavors. Dick formed durellaw, PLC with his son David in 2008. He is a 1967 graduate of Michigan State University and a 1972 Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Michigan Law School. Dick was admitted to the practice in Michigan in 1972 and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan. As were many members of his original law school class of 1970, Dick was called to military duty, attended officer Candidate School, and was on active duty with the United States Navy from 1969-1971. Dick is active in civic matters in West Michigan.
In his decades of experience, Dick has worked with an extensive set of clients, from small closely-held businesses to widely held public companies. Dick understands clients’ needs for timeliness, efficiency, and ability to find creative solutions to sophisticated problems. He is a listener who prefers a “straight forward approach” to communication. Dick enjoys his practice, working with people and adding value to their businesses, and to making their experience with durellaw, PLC personally and professionally satisfying.
At Home: Dick and his wife, Lynda, love spending time with their six adult children and grandchildren. He enjoys passing the weekends in Whitehall where he golfs, motorcycles, and fits in a little bit of boating as well. Dick also enjoys planning and traveling state side and internationally with Lynda and many of their friends from Monroe, Michigan, their hometown.
